Free program for video quality measurements. Supports different input formats (AVI, AVS, YUV, BMP) and metrics (PSNR, Delta, VQM, SSIM, MSU Blurring/Blocking Measure).
Features: This is a free program that can give you some measures on video quality of a given video clip. Video quality is a characteristic of a video passed through a video transmission/processing system, a formal or informal measure of perceived video degradation (typically, compared to the original video). Video processing systems may introduce some amounts of distortion or artifacts in the video signal, so video quality evaluation is an important problem. Several input formats are supported that includes AVI, AVS, YUV and BMP. The measurements that can be taken by the program include PSNR, Delta, VQM, SSIM, MSU blurring, blocking measure etc. Results are presented in CSV format. CSV being a universal format can be opened anywhere for further analysis.
All metrics are visualized and is very useful for codec and filter debugging. For measurements comparative analysis is done. The comparison is done between three files. One, the original video file, two other files processed by different codecs. At least about 10,000 frames are compared. The plug-ins interface provides a means of creating your own measurements.
Overall: A nice way of doing measurement on video which is basically subjective.
